Starting in 1980 as the Gold Club. The South African Gold Coin Exchange has been trading since 1972, buying and selling Krugerrands, collectables and numismatic coins. The Gold Club purchased The South African Gold Coin Exchange in 1992.

Gold has gone from $35 in 1967 to a high of $800 in 1980 to a low of $250 in 1992 and a high of $1925 in 2012 now trading at $1300 an ounce. Over this time the rand has depreciated from buying $1.30 to only buying 7 US cents today.

Employing over 100 staff with 16 stores nationwide with a head office in Sandton city. Our Infrastructure consists of - IT, Safekeeping, Marketing, Insurance, Logistics, FICA Compliance, Internal and external audit, HR, General/VAT compliance, Medical Aid, Provident Fund, Leave Policies, Equal opportunities, Compliance with 2nd hand goods act. Sales channels include retail, outbound, and inbound brokerage, online. Developing the Proof Krugerrand, the ZAR Graded coins and Nobel Laureate Medallion market in South Africa as well as international modern collectable numismatic market representing all the major Mints of the world. USA, Royal Canadian Mint, Royal British Mint, Portuguese, Mint of Norway, Berlin Mint, Paris Mint, Perth Mint, and Chinese Mint.

Spending over R200M on Marketing on TV, Radio, Press, Billboards, Internet and Pr etc. Building the brand and educating the public about the benefits of gold ownership over 40 years.

Having facilitated over 250 000 transactions involving R50Bn. Including buying and selling. Marketing gold coins, Krugerrands and medallions and listing collections for clients is our strength.
