Terms & Conditions

1. Competition Overview

The Golden Guess competition is open to all participants who enter via the official form on The Scoin Shop website and who are based in South Africa. By entering, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. How to Enter

Participants must guess the Rand (ZAR) price of gold (spot price) for the last day of the following month at 17:00 PM (SAST). Entries can be submitted at any time during the current month, with no limit on the number of submissions. Each entry will always apply to the following month’s gold price, ensuring fairness in the competition. If a participant submits multiple entries, their last entry will be the one counted.

3. Winner Selection & Prizes

The participant whose guess is closest to the actual spot gold price on the specified date which is the last day of the next month at 17:00 SAST will be declared the winner. If multiple participants submit the exact correct guess, the earliest submitted entry will be selected as the winner. The prize will be a gold coin or gold coins, with the value and type varying each month throughout the duration of the competition. Winners will be notified via email and phone. If a winner does not respond within three (3) working days, another winner will be selected.

4. Competition Rules & Fair Play

A participant can only win once during the entire campaign. Any entries deemed to be suspicious, fraudulent, or automated may be disqualified at The Company’s discretion. The organizers reserve the right to adjust the competition rules or cancel the competition entirely in cases of fraud, abuse, or any actions that undermine the integrity of the competition. The decision of the organizers is final, and no correspondence regarding the results will be entered into.

5. Privacy & Data Protection

By entering, participants consent to The Scoin Shop and The South African Gold Coin Exchange adding their details to the marketing database and agree to the terms and conditions of this competition. Participants also agree to receive marketing communications about the company’s products and services. They may unsubscribe at any time by following the opt-out instructions included in the communications.

All personal information will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and will not be shared with third parties without the participant’s consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

The organizers accept no responsibility for technical errors, lost entries, or any other disruptions that may affect participation in the competition. The organizers are also not liable for any loss, damage, or injury that may result from participation in the competition.
