The American Numismatic Association (ANA) is a nonprofit dedicated to studying numismatics and coin collecting.

Founded in 1881, the ANA serves the academic community, collectors and the general public with an interest in numismatics. In addition, the ANA focuses on educating and encouraging people to study and collect coins and related items.

The charter of the American Numismatic Association states that it is “Open to all persons of good character who have an interest in coins, currency, medals and tokens” Well, that’s us!

Rael Demby says,

“We are proud to have an established and exclusive relationship with the ANA because they have an unrivalled excellent reputation and are dedicated to fostering the love of coin collecting.”

The pandemic has disrupted many events promoting the coin and collectables industry, but this year the ANA is back with their premium showcase, the 2021 Chicago World's Fair of Money, which kicks off on the 10th of August. This week is the biggest week of the year for collector’s of coins, paper money, tokens and medals and draws thousands of numismatics enthusiasts. The ANA always puts on a packed schedule of fascinating exhibits, and this year’s highlight is the first public display of that 1933 Double Eagle that sold at auction in early June for a record-breaking $18,872,250. The fair allows numismatic fans to buy, sell and trade with hundreds of coin dealers, explore auction lots showcasing amazing rarities, and attend lectures and presentations from noted numismatists.

We wish we could be there to share in the enthusiasm for the “hobby of kings”, but luckily the ANA will live stream select activities and events via their FaceBook page. So we don’t know about you, but we will be joining via https://www.facebook.com/numismatics to support our friends at the American Numismatic Association.
