NFT buy-back program, in collaboration with MOMINT, shows the immense potential of digital assets and blockchain technology:
NFTs were once unpredictable investments backed only by digital artworks or community projects. But in 2022, The South African Gold Coin Exchange & The Scoin Shop partnered with MOMINT to create an asset-backed project underpinned by the 1892 ZAR 10 Coin Proof Set. This coin set is considered one of the highest-graded proof-quality coins from the first issued by President Kruger. The complete set, valued at $1.2M (~R18M at time of launch), was fractionalised into digital shares so that coin collectors could own a share.
In collaboration with MOMINT, a successful NFT buy-back program has been concluded, delivering a 25% return. The program aimed to repurchase all eligible NFTs and distribute the earnings to participants, setting a new standard in the digital asset space.
This initiative highlights our commitment to creating a supportive ecosystem for our community. By partnering with MOMINT, Africa's top digital asset platform, we have demonstrated tangible benefits to token holders. Participants received an impressive 25% return, showcasing the program's success and the security of Blockchain-based assets backed by real-world assets.
Ahren Posthumus, CEO at Momint, credited our team with providing substantial value to investors: "I want to applaud Scoin for the incredible value they have provided to the investors of this valuable coin set. Every buyer got a 25% return in under two years. All users who received a buyback have shared that they are incredibly happy. We always seek to work with partners that provide value, and I believe this strengthens the case for Blockchain and our position as the leading Web3 platform in Africa."
"Partnering with Momint brought innovation and creativity to the forefront of our business, and the market's response was overwhelmingly positive. We operate in the traditional coin business space but are always adopting new thinking to make coin collecting fun, modern, and safe”, Rael Demby, CEO of The South African Gold Coin Exchange & The Scoin Shop.
