The Roger Federer Official Commemorative Silver Coin 2020 has been released

Roger Federer is a globally celebrated professional tennis player. Currently, he is ranked world number four in the men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals.

He was born in Basel, Switzerland on 8 August 1981 and always had a passion for the sport. He dropped out of school at age 16 to pursue a career in tennis. His debut was in 1998 on the ATP Tour, and since then he has won 103 singles and eight doubles titles. His versatile playing style and his record-breaking achievements have led to him earning the title as one of the world’s best tennis players. In fact, many tennis experts already rank Roger Federer as the greatest tennis player of all time.

Federer has proved his dominance by winning all four Grand Slam titles (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open) at least once, and a total of 20 Grand Slam titles to date. He furthered his achievements by becoming Olympic doubles champion in 2008 together with Stan Wawrinka, and won silver in the singles in 2012. His determination and effort has seen him also win the Davis Cup for the very first time with the Swiss team in 2014.

As the oldest player to top the world rankings - and for the longest period - he has had a whopping 310 weeks at the top, which included a record-breaking run of 237 consecutive weeks. He has also finished the year as the world number one in 2004, and then again from 2007 - 2009.
