Honouring the Courage That Liberated a Continent

Eighty years after the guns fell silent across Europe, Monnaie de Paris honours one of humanity’s greatest triumphs — the end of the Second World War and the dawn of peace. The V-E Day 80th Anniversary Collection pays tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the Allied soldiers who fought to liberate Europe, restoring freedom to millions.

The Story of Liberation

Following the acclaimed D-Day 80th Anniversary Collection, this 2025 release completes a historic narrative — from the beaches of Normandy to the victory celebrations of May 1945. Each coin captures the personal story of a soldier who served with bravery, humanity, and unwavering resolve.

Crafted in 99.9% fine silver and 99.99% pure gold, these proof-quality pieces unite artistry and remembrance in a timeless celebration of courage and unity. Limited to low worldwide mintages, every coin is an heirloom of freedom — a golden and silver salute to those who shaped history.

The collection follows four Allied soldiers — British, French, American, and Canadian — whose journeys tell the story of liberation through courage and solidarity. From D-Day to V-E Day, their stories represent a continent’s struggle for peace, forever immortalised in precious metal.
